Wear or bring dark (preferred but not necessary), loose fitting clothing to your appointment – avoid tight clothing, bras, buckles, belts, straps, or tight elastic!
Before: * In the days leading up to your tan be sure to moisturize your skin well... HOWEVER, on the DAY OF your tan, it is best to NOT use any lotion, moisturizers, or body oils. This will allow the DHA to be better absorbed. * Avoid heavy make-up. Lotions & oils on the face and body are ok if used 3 hours or more prior to tan * Exfoliate 24 hours before your spray tan, not the day of your tan – a fresh, scrubbed body w/o deodorant is best. Pay special attention to knees, elbows, and ankles when exfoliating. Avoid using soaps with alpha-hydroxy or salicylic acne treatment within 24 hrs of your tan. * Shave the day before or several hours before – avoid shaving minutes before the tan * Women commonly wear a bathing suit, thong, or bra/panty in dark colors. Wear as much or as little as you are comfortable with. (keep in mind, some solution will get on these garments- this solution washes out of ‘most’ fabrics, but darker, cotton fabrics are recommended) * Men MUST wear running shorts, board shorts or fitted underwear. * If using Retin-A or any other product with Alpha Hydroxy, please make sure you let your tanning tech know. Retin-A can be VERY damaging to your tan.
